How to create a new document using the original information from your template

Let's say you have the following form:

You'd like to use this form repeatedly with various data and you are not the only person to use this template, so names will vary as well.

1. Save your document as a template

Choose File | Save As Template...:

This command saves current document in the template format. The following dialog will appear:

- If you want to save the whole document, choose The whole document. The saved template will look like the original document.

- If you just want to save text and graphics you created with Drawing Tools, choose Text and graphics only. Note that in this case, images that you scanned in Form Pilot, opened from your hard drive, or got using the Convert document to image command, will not be saved in the template:

If you choose to save the template in the Templates folder (within the program folder), it will appear in the templates bar:

2. Create a new document using the template

Click the template name in the templates bar.

Choose Create a new document in the opened dialog box:

   Alternatively:

Choose File | New, then check the Using template button in the opened dialog box:

Browse to your template file.

A new document will be created using the selected template.

3. Now you can edit the document

For instance, add necessary text and graphics (we highlighted the new data on the figure below):

The document is ready to be printed, faxed or sent by e-mail.
