Two Pilots forum / For software developers / PDF Creator Pilot: Some PDFs not supported?

Hi

I'm currently evaluating PDF Creator Pilot for an ungoing project. There seem to be a couple of issues with the version I downloaded. Versions etc. at the bottom of this post.

The test I'm doing is this: Open a PDF document. Append another document to it and save to disk. This works with some documents, but not all. Specifically it seems that PDFs generated by a printer fails to open or, if they are being appended, fails to write back to disk. When opening, an SEHException with no information provided, when saveing after an append, an AccessViolationException is thrown.

The code that performs the test is (C#):

PDFCreatorPilotLib.PDFDocument4Class creator = new PDFCreatorPilotLib.PDFDocument4Class();
creator.SetLicenseData("demo@demo", "demo");
creator.Open(@"C:TempStandard.pdf", "");
creator.Append(@"C:TempScanned.PDF", "");
creator.SaveToFile(@"C:TempConcat.pdf", true);

Windows: Vista Enterprise, fully updated
Using Visual Studio 2008
PDFCreatorPilot.dll version: 4.2.2635.0

Do you have any input that will allow me to continue my test.

Thank you

Hi,

I am not very familiar with c# but isn't there a backslash missing in your filepath-string when calling "Open" method?

Greetings

That's a cut and paste problem. It has nothing to do with the problem.

Hi FujServ ,

I'm sorry for incredible delay with answer - there was an internal problem with notifications :(
Is your problem still relevant?

I have this same issue when trying to save in VB.Net:

"System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at PDFCreatorPilotLib.IPDFDocument4.SaveToFile(String name, Boolean AutoLaunch)
at CustomManuals.CustomManuals.btnProcess_Click(Objec t sender, EventArgs e) in J:NetAppsSourceCustomManualsCustomManualsCustomMan uals.vb:line 829"

This only happens after doing an append, if I comment out the append

I am also having the same issue.

Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at PDFCreatorPilotLib.PDFDocument4Class.Open(String FileName, String password)

This is happening on the Open.

I get this error message when I try to open a file created by Adobe Acrobat 9. I tried it on a file that is created by PDFCreatorPilot and it works fine.

Thank You.
