Hello Two Pilots Team,

Is there a way to add a file attachment annotation to a whole document instead of on a certain page of a document? I want to get an attachment allocated in the attachments tab of the pdf document.

I played with standard type FileAttachmentAnnotationIcon, I got some distortions of annotation icons. For example FileAttachmentAnnotationIcon.faaiPaperclip - Link to result PDF file
Adobe Reader 9.3.1 gets it distorted, Foxit Reader displays much better.

Is there a way to change the annotation icon to my custom icon?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Demontagu,

Thank you for your letter.

1. File attachment annotation is relating to whole document. You may see a list of attachements via menu (in Adobe Reader): View->Navigation Panels->Attachments.
2. Adobe Reader 8.3.1 displays the paperclip icon properly. May be the latest versions of Adobe Reader process icons incorrect...
3. Unfortunately, the PDF doesn't allow to change annotation icon to any custom icon.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Hello Artem,

1. Just to clarify what I meant: here is PDF with attachment to whole document and with auto-expanding attachment tab. Link to test PDF file with attachment
What are the differs: attachment disposition, no link to page, no attachment icon on page (in your case it is obligatory).
I tried to specify doc.CurrentPage = -1 before call doc.AddUnicodeFileAttachmentAnnotation(...) - icon will appear on page 2, I tried to specify coordinates to -100,-100 - for some readers it becomes like 0,0

2. I expect my customers will use the latest versions of Abode Reader. Unfortunately the current icons look is unacceptable.

I hope this information will be useful for the further component development.

All the best,
Alex.

Hello Alex,

1. For auto-expanding attachment tab you need to use mtUseAttachments ModeType
http://www.colorpilot.com/pdfcreatorpilotmanual/IP DFDocument4/ModeType.html

2. Unfortunately, you link is broken. We can't see your pdf.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
