Doesn't send the picture tot he clipboard. I have it checked on the toolbar but when I do a Ctrl V or just right click and paste, it does what ever was in the clipboard, prior to grabbing a screen shot. I just highly recommended the program to some friends but now, I may have to retract that. I really like the looks of it and the features but, I need the clipboard function to work. Please help.

Thank you!!

My version is 1.02.02
OS is Windows XP, all updates except SP2.

Hi,

Thank you for the feedback! Please make sure that you activated the "To clipboard" button on the main toolbar. Then, after you captured a screenshot, it will be copied to the Clipboard as well.

I may have a related problem. It worked fine the first time I used it; hasn't worked at all since. When I start it up, the Pilot screen comes up, it doesn't capture my open screens, then it "dings". Then it doesn't 'do' anything. I can click "start capture" & it will highlight a screen or give me crosshairs, but when I surround an area or point to an object, all I get is a "ding" and it's done. Doesn't copy anything to the clipboard, doesn't put anything in the Pilot workspace, nothing. It's totally useless to me.

Oops. I should have told you this.
I'm using version 1.40
I'm running XP/SP2
and, yes, I have activated the "To clipboard" button & tried all the different 'capture' buttons.

Thanks,
Dave

Thank you for your message. Could you please contact us via feedback form at http://www.colorpilot.com/support.php and send us the screenshot of your Options dialog box, namely the "Capture" tab and the "Additional" tabs?

Also, could you please send us a screenshot of the program itself where we can see the main toolbar?

Thank you.

I, too, ran into the problem where Screenshot Pilot worked fine at first, sending captured screens to the clipboard and then mysteriously stopped even though the 'To Clipboard' button was active. After reading the above post from Natalia I remembered that I had opened the Options dialog box (click Options on the menu bar) and reset the Format box on the Capture tab to JPEG instead of leaving it at TIFF (at least I think TIFF is the program default.) After resetting this one field back to TIFF from JPEG the program sends every image I capture to the clipboard allowing me to paste them into whatever program I'm using.

I realize that some people, such as myself, would rather use the JPEG format than TIFF as it typically results in smaller file sizes but once you have the image on the clipboard it can be pasted into MS Paint and saved in several different formats. This could be a place where Two Pilots could consider creating an image conversion utility that would allow users to convert a file from one image format to another. Maybe an upgrade or plugin for the Image2PDF utility?

This information was obtained while working with Windows XP Home SP2 and Screenshot Pilot v. 1.40.

Hi!

Thank you for the info. The default file format in Screenshot Pilot is .png. I tried to change file format to .jpg on my Windows XP to see if there are any problems with capturing - I didn't manage it :-) Anyway, thank you, I will re-send this information to our programmer.

Speaking about an image converting utility, do you mean it would be useful to have it for Screenshot Pilot, or just as a standalone program for other purposes than capturing screen?

Thank you,
Natalia

Hmmm. I, too, had changed the default format to .jpg. Just changed it back to .png & it seems to be working now.
Thanks Natalia.

Hi Dave,

great that it worked for you! However, for us it is still a mystery... Thank you for your feedback!

Similar to other users when I first installed the Screenshot Pilot version 1.41.02 (under Windows NT SP6) the copy to clipboard worked fine and then it shortly stopped working. Now when I try to paste I only get the the last screen image/text copied from a source other than Screenshot Pilot.

I have the Capture to Cliboard on
I have uninstalled and re-installed
I have switched formats

All to no avail!

Any ideas?
