Two Pilots forum / Digital photo software / Import 2000+ Photo Captions

Hello,
Please tell me if your program will do this?

I have 2000+ photo captions which have been exported to MS Excel, .csv, .XML format.

I now need to add these captions to my 2000+ images in .jpg format.

All captions are "together" where the photos are in different folders.

I know how to import the file with captions -but what fields do I need?

It only seems to be adding one caption per 1 photo at a time, and the caption is NOT been written to the photo.

PLEASE HELP.

Thank you

Dear Customer,

Did you export pictures using Exif Pilot?

>I know how to import the file with captions -but what fields do I need?

1. FilePatch (/File/Main/FilePath)
2. Caption (/Iptc/Application/Caption)
See more about Customize Export:

Import from XML, MS Excel, CSV formats:

Hi Ira you have have mentioned 1, 2 etc, but how to build a CSV file from the txt exported info? Will be the "/File/Main/FilePath" the tittle of the column in a spreadsheet?

I bought the plug-in, but Im not getting to import anything to my 1000 images as a test, how to procedure step by step? I have all file names, titles, and keywords in a spreadsheet.

Tks

Hello Lucato,

What the type of export do you plan to use? There are two export methods:
1) Batch export of EXIF and IPTC information for multiple images recorded in a single file.
2) Batch export of EXIF and IPTC information for multiple images each recorded in separate files.

The tag "/File/Main/FilePath" need for identifying a file.

Hi Artem, thanks for your reply. I`ve checked both in the options to export for Excel. Got the column tittles as...

_File_Main_FilePath | _File_Main_FileName | _Iptc_Application_ObjectName | _Iptc_Application_Caption | _Iptc_Application_Category | _Iptc_Application_Keywords

and placed them into my own spreadsheet as title, filled the rows and saved as xls and when importing I`m getting the error: "Invalid Format file D:abcFiles and Documentsfilename.xls"

When trying to save the xls as csv and import as csv, iExif says import complete very quick, but didn`t import a thing once the "loading bar" doesn't show and the data isn't filled'.

Any further suggestion?

Could you send us your csv and xls files? Please, do not attach files when you reply to this email. Our e-mail box does not accept the emails with the attachments. You can use our online form to send us a file: http://www.colorpilot.com/support.html.

Hi Artem, good morning.
Yesterday before your request I had submitted a ticket with the xls file, now I`ve just sent you a zipped file with both files.

PS.: I`m using ExifPilot FREE 4.4.0 with the bought Batch plug-in. The formated cells are formated for text. I have no idea what can be wrong.

Thanks.

Hello Lucato,

OK, I saw your file. Important note: each cell in the value of tag column must be prefixed with a single quotation mark; i.e., the sign ('). For example, the value 1/5 must be formatted as '1/5. Please try to use tha sign (').
