Two Pilots forum / Form filler/maker software / Form Pilot Home - form prints an all black page

I scanned a document and saved it as a tif image file.
I then imported it in to Form Pilot Home and completed the form.
Print preview displays the completed form as I would like it.
When I print the form, it prints a solid black page.
What's wrong?

Please try to change your scanner/printer settings.

When I print to a PDF file it is a black image as well which eliminates the printer as a problem.
When I use the print preview in form pilot, the document looks fine so I appears to be scanning properly.
Any other ideas?
Why would the print preview be misleading?

Can you please tell us how you print a PDF file? Which printer do you use? Could you please send us the screenshot of your printer's settings?

Please send us the original document that you try to print as well.

To send the files, please go to our feedback page: and write us a message.

Also, try to convert this document into image (menu Image | Convert document to image...) and print the image from any other editor or from the viewer. Will it print also in black?

I have encountered this problem several times. It sometimes recurs with files that printed OK before and is really frustrating, apart from using up lots of precious ink. I have not been able to isolate any particular combination of factors.
Like to previous contributor, I cannot understand why the print preview would be unreliable.
The 'convert to image' seemed to resolve it for me but why should this be necessary?

Could you please try the newest version 1.97? I hope, this problem is solved in the newest version.

Sorry, but the new version does not solve the problem. It does offer a useful 'conversion to image' as part of the print dialog, which is a convenience.

One thing I've discovered which may help your engineers:
I get the black(unusable) pages only when I print on my laserjet. I do not have this problem when I print on my inkjet.
Like one of the subscribers above, I also get black pages when I print to my PDF (ie. distiller) printer.

Hope all will soon be resolved.

Dear Eamonn,

Do you still have this problem when you convert document to image and then print this image on your laserjet from any other graphic editor?

Also, you can try to do the following: set up your laserjet as a default printer, then run Form Pilot and to print out your document (after you select the Print command, please make sure that the "Print as image" setting is activated in the "Print options" dialog). Does it bring good results?

Thank you,
