Can you please send me the CHM file that caused this error? You can sent it directly to max.f@colorpilot.com (don't forget to zip it).

I received the same error, when trying to convert a huge CHM created by Sandcastle weighting in around 19MB.
CHM2PDF progress bar when failing says importing file 4917 of 18385 at the time.
Memory usage: 487 084K
Handles:10 135
GDI Objects 9 995

Our developers are working on improving our PDF-generating core. Please, could you give us a web link to your file? We'd like to have it for tests but I'm afraid my mail server will not allow a 19Mb message to pass :)

I cannot provide the 19MB chm as it is proprietary, but I did find a 54MB chm of j2se6 that exhibits the same behavior at http://www.allimant.org/javadoc/index.php.
It seems that the error happens when GDI count would go over 9999.

chm2pdf 2.15.86 - Vista Home Premium
I ran into the same problem and received an additional error message which led me to the Data Execution Prevention. After I entered the chm2pdf exe file name under the exceptions everything worked just fine.

@Kraut55:
That was just the answer I was looking for. Adding the file to the exceptions in DEP did the magic. Thank you.

Start -> rightc lick on "Computer" -> Properties -> Advanced system settings -> Advanced -> Data Execution Prevention
but the latest converters are DEP compatible...

Hi,
I'm getting the same error message ("Can't load decompiled HTML-file in COM object") with a 60 MB pdf file. Is the error message in my case due to the file size?
Thanks for your help,
Clark

Yes, CHM2PDF has limitations on file size. We will try to fix this constraint.
