Hi,

We are trying to evaluate pdf creator pilot.

We rapidly ran into some questions while we were trying to make it work with our code. We are working with Visual C++ & MFC, and we need to use pdf creator pilot with the hdc properties.

Our main problem is the mapping mode. Our code is using MM_LOMETRIC (Each logical unit is converted to 0.1 millimeter. Positive x is to the right; positive y is up).

PDF->BeginDoc();
dc.Attach((HDC)PDF->HDC);
dc.SetMapMode(MM_LOMETRIC);

The SetMapMode method does not seem to modify anything as positive y is still down.

In case we have to convert all our coordinates, we need to know what logical unit to use.

Thank you very much.

Dear Eric,

All units are in points - for example, A4 page is 595x842 points. You can get page size by using PDFPAGE_Height and PDFPAGE_Width properties.
Also, you can set your size for pages using same properties - just do it before NewPage, or, in case of the first page, before BeginDoc.

Also, when you change DC resolution, sizes will be changed.

Thank you very much !

Best regards,

595x842 seems to be a pretty low resolution to work with. Any ways to improve that ?

Thanks for the informations. We'll convert some coordiantes to see the results.

Dear Eric,

You can change the page resolution - for example, you have A4 with 595x842 at 72 dpi, and to have more high resolution, you use PDF document property Resolution = 288 and you'll have page size x 4 = 2380x3368.

Thank you very much !

Best regards,
Stanislav
