could you make a multiplatform application also for the Macintosh ?

It is not yet in our plans. There is a built-in Mac application that could solve that problem: Text Edit. It has options for saving files as HTML and as Word documents. The later is the doc format. To convert HTML files into Word format do this:
Copy the HTML (Select All - Copy inside your browser, then select a blank Text Edit document, then Paste; all commands are in the "Edit" menu, both in almost any browser and in the Text Edit)
If this does not work for you, let us know why. Probably, there is the reason to schedule an application like this.

Yes, there are a lot of reasons.
We need a command line option so that we can make batch operations and add pdf settings that are not possible using the system built-in framework.

Your answer could be the same for windows system. Open the html file in Openoffice and save it as PDF :-) so the same reason that you can find on the pc you can find them on the mac.
